contemporary art

Contemporary art is very important to affect the ideas of Marc Jacobs. He uses his sartorial fashion interpretations of trends in contemporary art.

Some of my friends said they believed he is a great designer but he's not an artist. He certainly loves contemporary art and has strong knowledge of it, but they're not sure this comparison is accurate.

Then i checked out the pictures of summer 2003 collection of Louis Vuitton, which cooperated with with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami (* you guys can check the entry ,i have told something about it.). They produced "eye love". in LV traditional monogrammatic canvas, you also can see its beige and brown motif that included shapes of diamonds, stars, and flowers along with the company's initials, with Murakami's modern, colourful pop-art graphics.

Interview's June/July 2008 issue, Marc Jacobs on the cover complete with white makeup and Warholian white wig. The accompanying article focus on Marc's obsession with art, his artist collaborations with the likes of Takashi Murakami and Stephen Sprouse(* you guys can check the entry ,i have told something about it.), his art-inspired advertising, and his club-like stores .

He taked the advantage of Graffiti style of Stephen Sprouse .

1MJ's collaborations with Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami, and Richard Prince have shaken things up in both the fashion and the art worlds.Especially In Marc by Macr Jacobs collection.
A lot people thought that mixing up art and fashion is something kind of new but Marc Jacobs didnt agree that he thought it was kind of old.

HERE ARE EXAMPLES:
the products designed by Marc Jacobs ,But not in Marc Jacobs,In LV

Collaborations with :
a)Stephen Sprouse

Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs paid homage to the great Stephen Sprouse with a limited edition collection of accessories and ready-to-wear.

The collection is said to use graffiti and the rose — both infamous Sprouse themes — in Day-Glo shades of pink, orange, and green.

I proposed putting together a Vuitton version of the Pop Shop, which was Keith Haring’s concept…not reissuing products that we had done with Stephen, but doing things that were similar or new. I tried to take what Stephen had done at Vuitton and then kind of flip it in my head, and make it Vuitton’s work for Stephen, not Stephen’s work for Vuitton.” - Marc Jacobs

b)Takashi Murakami

The print comes in three shades of green.

For the Louis Vuitton pre-fall 2008 collection, Marc Jacobs collaborated with Japanese designer Takashi Murakami to create a unique and different look for the following season, “Monogramouflage”.

Our collaboration has produced a lot of works, and has a huge influence and inspiration to many. It has been and continues to be a monumental marriage of art and commerce. The ultimate cross-over, one for both the fashion and art history books.” says Marc Jacobs

c)Richard Prince

I’m a fan of SpongeBob SquarePants—and for all I know, so is Rei Kawakubo, because that’s where our color came from!” - Marc Jacobs in an interview with Style.
